The City of Genk has found a smarter way to handle its processes by switching to InTouch. The result? Fewer clicks, less searching, and plenty more time for the real work. Sanctioning official Mina Ait M’Hidra shares her experience.
Before implementing InTouch, the City of Genk worked with outdated systems that led to cumbersome processes and an increased risk of errors. Processing case files took a lot of time and needed manual follow-up. Administration was done largely by hand, risking mistakes and delays.
Everything changed with the introduction of InTouch. From registration to processing and follow-up — now it’s all handled in one central system for GAS4 and GAS5. “The police enter the violations, and InTouch automatically retrieves them. I get the case file ready to go, create a fine, and the next day I can sign digitally. That way, the fine is immediately in the system,” Mina explains.
Thanks to automated workflows, the entire chain, up to the financial settlement, is managed in InTouch.
“Everything runs automatically, and I can always see the status of a particular case. That brings huge advantages.”
With InTouch, Mina always has an up-to-date view of every case’s status, without any endless searches. The dashboard provides an overview and helps her manage tasks efficiently. She can follow statuses in real time, add notes, and ensure each file is always up to date — one of her favorite features.
“You can check a file’s current status at any time. That provides so much clarity and peace of mind!” says Mina. This lets her handle her work more smoothly, and everyone in the administration has access to the right information at the right time.
Thanks to InTouch, Mina can do her job faster and more accurately. This not only boosts her own job satisfaction but also improves service for citizens. The City of Genk continues to invest in digitization and innovation; soon, Mina’s colleagues will start implementing InTouch’s GAS123 module.
For municipalities and cities thinking about starting with InTouch, Mina has a tip: “Good preparation is essential. Make sure your regulations and templates are in order, and think carefully about how you want your processes to run. If that part is set up well, the rest of the project flows much more smoothly.”
